Back in the early 80s, a co worker drove a 69 Corvette to work. I looked at him and back at the car and realized I could get a sports car. I had been driving a Ford Elite that had just been totaled two days before that. I could not stop talking about his car all day, asking all kinds of questions too. From that day on I was sold! The next day I bought I used 77 Corvette.
What I was not aware of was the new world I had entered with this car. I drove to the park pulled over and my Corvette journey began. I was not there 15 minutes when another Corvette pulled up. I did not know this person, but he had a Corvette and it was not long before other Vettes pulled up too. That’s when I knew something was different about this car.
I can talk about the respect you get from owning a Vette to riding down the street and passing another Vette owner and getting our wave but the message I really want you to take from this is when you have something in common all the other nonsense goes out the window.
Owning this car has been an icebreaker to the world. The people I have met and the places I have gone including the opportunity to be a member of and President of our club have all been because of this car.
Through ownership of this special car the Baltimore County Corvette Club has found the opportunity to form a great club filled with members who are devoted to our mission as a 501(c)(3). We are dedicated to helping our community and organizations within the community. We were founded in 2004 and are still going strong!
One car, one family- making a difference. We do not look up to our success, we look back to where we can help.
If you want to join us in our mission and have fun at our events, please see our Membership page. We look forward to hearing from you.
Save the Wave!
